Autumn and Winter Wedding Hair Trends 2017
So there are lots of beautiful, soft and whimsical hairstyles which are perfect for the summer bride, but if you're getting married in the autumn or winter then how should you wear your hair?
I’ve been doing a little research into the current trends for autumn and winter 2017 and found some perfect options for a seasonal take on wedding hair; that aren’t in fact too dissimilar to the relaxed styles of the summer.
For those of you thinking that you need a more formal and rigid style for the autumn and winter, think again! Beachy waves are still in but with a bit of a twist…. I’d like to introduce to you the “flat wave” or “middle wave” as it can also be called. Beachy waves are better created with a conical wand but for this seasonal take on them all you need is a flat iron or straightener. The roots and ends of you hair are left super straight while the mid lengths are given a smooth bend or cool curl as demonstrated perfectly on the catwalk by Fendi and Max Mara.

For those of you who want to wear your hair down but with a little more “oomph” then fear not as big volumous hair is back in this season, as are tumbling waves if you prefer a more fuller look.
If you’re worried that now the summer is over you won’t be able to don that braid in your hair then worry no more as I’ve got the perfect solution: Add some embellishments! Han Wen featured some lovely pearl embellished braids on the catwalk for AW/17 which were very fairytale like indeed! If pearls aren’t your thing then you can always opt for diamontes or even pieces of lace or ribbon. Romantic twists which featured in a lot of summer wedding hairstyles are also still on trend for the winter months so if you are considering an updo or chignon then soften it with a few twists at the side and wisps of hair softly framing the face as demonstrated nicely by Jenny Packham.

And lastly we have retro styles! If a bride has a slightly vintage dress then I love to add a vintage twist to their wedding hairstyle if they allow me to! It doesn’t have to be full a full on period hairstyle but loose victory rolls and soft quiffs can look very striking and elegant for your wedding hair. Team this with a gentle winged eyeliner and red lip and you will look ever the classic beauty on your wedding day!
