Wedding Party 17th January 2022

How To Choose Your Wedding Wine

So you've sorted your venue, found THE dress, selected your food and all set for the big party but still haven't made up your mind on the wine? Well it's your wedding and a cheap bottle of chardonnay just won't cut it so it's time to do a little bit of research and select your reds, whites, rosés and sparklings for the big day.

Fortunately, we've partnered with our good friends at 8wines to do a little taste testing to provide you with some recommended wines you may not have heard of:

With so many memories and fun moments made around the wedding breakfast, pairing food and wine is really important

1) Champagne Soutiran Blanc de Blancs Brut Grand Cru

champagne

8wines recommends this Champagne as an exquisite match for oysters. Similarly, it also pairs well with other creamy fish dishes.

2) Duckhorn Napa Valley Chardonnay 2018

duckhorn

We mentioned tacky Chardonnay earlier and so we're thrilled to bring you the very opposite! With hints of pineapple, white peach and lime, this well-rounded medium-bodied white is an absolute joy!

3) Bosquet des Papes Chateauneuf Du Pape Tradition 2016

red wine

Serving lamb as your main? Then this intense red will only bring out the flavours of the meat even more. This medium-bodied wine provides hints of blackberry and plum.

4) Bodegas Piedra Negra Gran Lurton Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

red wine

This was our favourite red and unsurprisingly goes incredibly well with beef. With hints of blackberry, blackcurrant, oak and tobacco you're sure to enjoy the smokiness!
