Heaton House Farm Hosts Olympic Star Wedding
When it comes to relaxed, english countryside, endlessly pretty weddings, there are few venues who do it better than the lovely Heaton House Farm. This adorable family run venue sits on the Staffordshire/Cheshire border and provides the most idyllic array of spaces for hosting one's nuptial celebrations!
Clearly our admiration of Heaton House Farm is shared by many, including Olympic gold medalist Joanna Rowsell, who married there earlier this year. 26 year old olympic cyclist Joanna married her long term beau (and former cyclist) Daniel Shand, and was accompanied by her cyclist teammates Dame Sarah Storey and Lizzie Armistead as bridesmaids.
The wedding was held outside, under the shelter of Heaton House's beautiful pagoda, after which guests enjoyed lawn games, live entertainment, a traditional fairground carousel and the most wonderful wedding breakfast provided by local caterers Vanilla in Allseasons. There was even the most magical carousel wedding cake to match the theme, expertly made by Tickety Boo Cakes!
Here's what Sarah from Heaton House had to say about the day,
“We were over the moon when we found out that Joanna had chosen Heaton House Farm to host her special day. Her wedding was perfect from start to finish and we loved the personal touches that she brought in such as the old-fashioned merry-go-round, and the carousel themed cake, as that is where they went on their first date… a truly magical experience and we are privileged that they let us be a part of it."
