Winter Wonderland Honeymoons

If you want a honeymoon consisting of cosy nights by the fire and powdery white snow under the feet a winter wonderland honeymoon could be perfect for you. Here are some of the honeymoons that have the snow factor!

After the igloo experience why not stay in one of their cosy earth lodges and take a swim off one of the jetties for a refreshing dip! If the jetty has frozen over don’t worry, they can cut a hole in the ice for you! Arctic odyssey, Greenland




Take a honeymoon to Greenland for the chance to see some of the most remote, dramatic and pristine landscapes on the planet. Depart from Reykjavik airport for a flight to the arctic village of Ilulissat famous for its icebergs and stunning scenery, a great way to view the scenery of Ilulissat is by dog sled, feel a jolt of power as the dogs take you gliding over the thick sea ice, it’s the only way to travel in Ilulissat. Take a whale watching boat tour to spot the humpback whales out on the sea then head to the harbour for a seafood barbeque caught fresh that afternoon. Ilulissat offers a range of exciting excursions including motorboat tours to the Eqi glacier, cultural demonstrations and village walks, helicopter rides over glaciers and tours of the remote settlements in the area. For hiking enthusiasts head to Sermermiut Valley for amazing views of the town from the marked trails.

Zermatt, Switzerland




The perfect honeymoon for skiing enthusiasts, Zermatt is a mountain village with perfect ski slopes and no cars to promote a tranquil, clean environment. The highest peak in Zermatt is Matterhorn standing 14,692 feet at the top of the valley; here you will be able to enjoy the longest summer skiing area in the Alps. Stay at the hotel Matterhorn Focus which is located at the base of the Matterhorn, you can access Zermatt from an underground passage from the hotel. Stay in the royal suite for a stunning balcony view of the Matterhorn with facilities such as a large living area, LCD flat screen and a bathroom with a freestanding bathtub. With Zermatt only 15 minutes’ walk away you can walk into the town and sample some of the excellent Swiss cuisine on offer and then head back to the hotel for an aperitif in the cosy lounge by the fireplace.

To see the sites of Quebec why not take a romantic coach tour around the city, finish in Old Quebec and choose from over 100 restaurants for a delicious meal, if you have room afterwards head to one of the traditional Cabane à sucre (sugar shacks) and try pouding chômeur a cake made with hot maple syrup poured into the batter before baking as well as other tasty treats covered in maple syrup.
