Wedding Jewellery Trends for 2020s

Brides planning a 2020s wedding are spoilt for choice when it comes to style of wedding jewellery. From Gatsby Glamour to Fifties Chic and Retro Inspiration to Ballroom Glamour – brides really can create an entire wedding theme by choosing just a few distinct accessories with their own.

Bohemian Inspiration:

The Bohemian inspired look is the most prominent amongst top bridal designers. Designers are developing romantic, feminine pieces by introducing naturalistic materials such as organza, ribbon, chiffon, lace and silk flowers into their pieces. Brides planning a rustic style, Boho or destination wedding can choose from beautifully crafted headpieces with matching organza tie bracelets, fabric and crystal earrings and amazing pearl and crystal necklaces adorned with chiffon florettes. The Boho look has developed from a low key, budget-friendly affair into a luxury, designer vision worthy of a Vogue magazine cover.

Downton Abbey / 1920s:

The Twenties inspired look is still a fashionable trend for the latest season of brides-to-be. Jewellery designers have explored forehead bands, lavish embellishments and feather motifs in various designs and are now moving on to even more creative Deco inspired jewels. The latest costume jewellery inspired by this era features baguette crystals, geometric shapes, long pendants or opera style necklaces and non-traditional wedding accessories such as hand jewellery and hair chains. This look is all about luxury details and plenty of sparkle!

Fifties Chic:

Alongside the Roaring Twenties and Glam Thirties – the new vintage bridal style takes inspiration from the Fifties too. Think old Hollywood glamour inspired by movie starlets with prom-style wedding gowns and plenty of lace. Jewellery to complement this look needs to exude elegance and a subtle shimmer – beaded accessories are set to be popular in 2015 and beaded combs, sashes and necklaces are perfect for re-creating this style. Freshwater pearls are also the focal point for this vintage-inspired style and bridal jewellery designers are using pearls in more innovative ways to create something much more lavish than a simple pearl drop pendant.

Gold Jewellery:

Brides of the new season are considering coloured jewellery more than even before. Pastel coloured stones are set to be a popular trend in 2015 but there is already a huge increase in demand for gold and antique gold jewels. Gold accessories are perfect to tone with a catwalk inspired nude, champagne or gold wedding gown and an ideal finishing touch for a Jenny Packham signature style beaded gown. Brides can choose from a gold, antique gold or fashionable rose gold finish; golden crystals – such as Topaz - complement this finish perfectly adding an even more unique touch.

Ballroom Glamour:

Glamorous jewellery is always on trend and the 2015 range of jewels by top bridal designers feature plenty of statement necklaces, chandelier earrings and crystal cuff bracelets. This style of accessory is perfect to complement lavish ballroom style gowns by designers such as Monique Lhuillier. The focal point for the new season is the use of Cubic Zirconia combined with Swarovski crystal to create jewels which mimic the look of real diamonds. Bridal jewellery designers have also started to re-create fine jewellery details in their collections imitating intricate motifs, pavé settings and contemporary square stones. Bridal costume jewellery is increasingly becoming the more affordable option to luxury jewels.
