However, even if you’re wearing the right size, your bra may not fit properly if it’s the wrong style for the shape of your bust. Also wearing the right style will ensure your wedding dress fits and flatters your figure.
The perfect bra fit is never more important than on your wedding day. So I’ve selected three different styles to help you decide which one you’re best suited to.
The Half Cup Bra
Half cup bras create a feminine shape with limited coverage and minimal support. Perfect for gowns with a square neckline, this style might be better suited to smaller bust sizes or if you’re shallow in the top cup. Plus if you’re looking for something special for the wedding night, they make beautiful boudoir pieces too! I love the Artistry Contour Bra from Elle Macpherson Intimates (below). With a gorgeous two-tone lace construction, this lightly padded bra exudes romance in retro cream with slot ribbon detail and charming bows.
The Plunge Bra
The plunge bra has a deep ‘V’ shape that creates a fabulous cleavage. A must for low cut necklines, this style is great if you have a small frame or if your breasts sit close together. The Fiore Bra from Lepel (below) is a wonderful choice. Adorned in luxurious lace with scalloped edging, this bra strikes the perfect balance between pretty and sexy style and it will look discreet under your wedding dress. The underwiring and foam padded cups offer fantastic support and shape whilst ensuring a natural looking cleavage.
The T-Shirt Bra
Ideal for creating a sleek silhouette, t-shirt bras are super smooth and often seamless for an invisible look under clothing. Offering more coverage and a great choice for fuller busts, I’d recommend this style if your gown is close fitting as it will help to create a clean line and flatter your figure. The Talia Bra from Just Peachy (below) offers an amazing fit for B-GG cup sizes. Ultra smooth with moulded cups, this bra provides fantastic support and shape, as well as maintaining a stylish look with chic spots and lovely lace trims.
