Inspire Me: Blush Pink Styled Shoot
Using the venue of St Andrews in the Square as the central influence for this romantic styled shoot, Wedding Planner Cat Duthie of Love Cat D Weddings put together a gorgeous look by choosing to use blush pink as the predominant colour in the palette. With the aim to show couples they can inject a touch of colour into a traditional setting without it feeling too overpowering, this shoot should provide lots of inspiration to all of you. To find out more, we spoke with Cat about all the various details of the shoot.
"St Andrew's in the Square, was the key element in setting the tone for the shoot. It's an old church and although no longer in use in this capacity, it still retains many of its original features with the gold gilded ceiling and stained glass windows creating a romantic and classical setting to get married.
The Colour Palette
"In keeping with the romantic feel, I wanted to use one clear colour palette - beautiful blush pink, to show how using one colour throughout can be done with ease and not become too overpowering if done well. Blush pink is a colour we all associate with love and romance and in such a classic setting, it seemed the obvious choice!
The stationery was created by the amazing Jo from Love Paper Crane who I have worked with before on a clients wedding. Upon explaining to Jo what I wanted, she created this bespoke water colour collection and it is simply gorgeously romantic and easy adapted to suit a different colour palette.
To create a cake for the shoot I got in touch with Jennifer from For Goodness Cake who made my own wedding cupcakes, however she was so inspired she ended up creating three! Each one is different but equally works well with the romantic tone and my personal favourite is the small one with the 'love' cake topper, it's so cute and the pearl detail is stunning.
The veil and stunning Adriana Alier dress were supplied by The Bridal Courtyard, who sit right next to St Andrew's in the Square, so very handy for any brides looking to cross off two from the 'to do list' of venue and dress shopping at the same time! It was important that the hair and makeup were subtle and classy to compliment the dress, a 'less is more' look giving our bride a natural glowing complexion without looking made up. The dynamic duo of Linda and Annette doing hair and make up, meant the gorgeous look was achieved with ease.
The bouquet was created by the talented Mel from Briar Rose Design and completely captured the romantic feel to the shoot with a gorgeous mix of pale pink and cream flowers and a loose trail of greenery to create a soft finish. This was continued throughout the decor from Lily Special Events, with the table centre pieces and pink sashes pulling the look consistently through from ceremony to dining set up.
Finally the images were captured by Rhinannon Neale who's own style tied in beautifully with the romantic, soft and classic look we wanted to showcase in such a unique setting as St Andrew's in the Square."
