Top Honeymoon Destinations

With more people than ever looking for honeymoons online, I thought I’d delve a little deeper and share which destinations are topping the search engines in 2015. With an abundance of honeymoon choices, here’s a roundup of the most popular destinations this year.

5) Mauritius

One of the most romantic places in the world, Mauritius offers the perfect blend of luxury, layered with privacy and tranquillity. Imagine spending honeymoon and lazing on the beach, palm trees swaying and feeling the clear blue ocean lapping at your feet.

Best time to go?
The winter months last from May to October and the temperature is cooler with less rain. You can also pick up some great honeymoon deals in this period.

Bali is the best known of the 16,500 islands that make up Indonesia’s archipelago, and is without question, a rising star in the honeymoon world. Why you ask? Places like Bukit offers everything a beach enthusiast would want and the Ubud area harbours the breath-taking ‘Monkey Forest’. Bali combines beautiful beaches, culture and adventure in one show stopping honeymoon location.

3) New Zealand

Known as the ‘Land of the Long White Cloud’ New Zealand has experienced a boom in searches due to the recent Royal Tour. New Zealand offers amazing diversity with pristine beaches, rivers for rafting, mountains and iconic bungee jumping locations, it’s an adventure honeymooners dream. New Zealand is also the only place in the world where you can catch a glimpse of flightless birds like the Kiwi and Kakapo.

Best time to go?
November to April experiences a warmer climate and offers perfect conditions for those wanting to explore. If you travel between December and February you can enjoy the many food festivals, concerts and major sporting events.

2) Hawaii and the USA

The reason for Hawaii and the USA occupying the number two slot is due to the increase in searches for ‘multi centre’ honeymoons. Hawaii offers an intoxicating mix of breath-taking beaches, volcanoes, and awe-inspiring landscapes, and when combined with the hustle and bustle of New York or Las Vegas you get a first class honeymoon experience.

Best time to go?
Hawaii is blessed with warm weather almost all year round, with the coastal areas averaging a high of 28°C and a low of 20°C. USA – June to August enjoys a warm climate, but also the highest prices, September and October offer the best prices for a combined Hawaii and USA honeymoon.

With around 500 islands in the Maldives you are not short of luxury accommodation and special packages for newlyweds.
