Small tips to take care of while preparing for the wedding

Planning a wedding can be stressful as there are countless moving parts to consider, from the venue to the food and drinks and the guestlist. Therefore it is important to think not only about preparing for your special day but taking care of your and your partner's mental and physical health. We have partnered with Jooble to create a list of tips to help you focus on yourself when planning your special day. Try a few of these out and see if they can help you prepare for your wedding.

Be organised

With a myriad of tasks to complete, keeping organised is imperative. This could include keeping lists of tasks that need completing, making spreadsheets for your budget, or even keeping a planner for appointments you may have when planning. This will help you to make sure no stone is unturned, and you don’t miss any important meetings. Being organised is also a great way to alleviate stress as unexpected issues will be less likely to arise.

Work with others.

Planning a wedding alone or even with your spouse can be overwhelming and complicated. Consider bringing other people in to help you, this could be your friends and family. Your friends and family may even feel honoured to be involved in your wedding and this will significantly help relieve stress- even if it's just delegating simple tasks. You can even consider hiring a professional wedding planner who will help you to plan everything. If this isn’t something you’re interested in, the internet can also help you to plan your wedding as well, for example, you can hire staff on Jooble, searching terms like event bartender jobs.

Enjoy yourself.

Preparing for a wedding is stressful and can take up a lot of time, but you need to remember why you're doing it, to marry someone you love. Try to enjoy the process, and spend time with your partner and family. This could include having a hen and stag do, dress fittings with your family, or cake-tasting sessions. This can help to reduce stress and make planning the wedding more memorable. Even consider taking photos or making an album to help you remember the special moments throughout the process

Relax

Enjoying yourself Is important when planning your wedding but you also need to relax, you don't want to be burnt by the time your special day comes around. One way to relax is through self-care, this can manifest in a multitude of ways. For example, taking baths, journaling, and exercising are all forms of self-care. Do some research and see what works for you. In addition, make sure to spend time relaxing with your partner, you don't want the stresses of the wedding getting between you both leading up to the wedding.

Remember what it’s all for.

Some days the planning may get on top of you, and you may question everything, but remember why you’re planning your wedding, to marry the love of your life. When you feel stressed, take time for yourself, and speak with your partner. Spending time with your partner can help you to remember why you love them and why you want to be with them for the rest of your life. Try going on dates that allow you to both discuss any stresses you may have.

We hope this list of small tips can help you to take care of yourself while preparing for your wedding. Make sure to keep organised, enjoy yourself, relax, and most importantly, remember why you're doing this. You should be excited and calm before your special day, not stressed, exhausted, and burnt out.
