Beach Wedding Invitations - Yes Please!

More and more brides of our brides are telling us that they’ve taken the decision to have a beach wedding, to save costs or to have a more intimate wedding with extended celebrations with their guests. A beach is such a romantic setting, helping to make a special and memorable day... taking your vows with the waves lapping at your feet, surrounded by close family and friends.

Have you chosen this option? From our research, couples tend to either have a beach wedding with a slightly larger number of guests, or a smaller wedding and then a party when they return home to extend the celebrations to include more of their family and friends. Depending upon your plans, you’ll need to consider both ‘beach wedding invitations’ and ‘beach wedding celebration invitations’ for your party.

Beach Wedding InvitationsYour beach wedding invitations

You’ll want to consider the destination of your wedding, and a style and wording that suits you both as a couple. You may only want a few invites (and remember, you only need to send one invite per couple or family, not per person), but don’t forget other nice-to-have’s such as matching place cards and wedding menus that could be used at your meal. Send your invitations as far in advance as you possibly can, your guests will need to book holiday time from work, plan their trip and budget their finances.

With regards to the style of your invites, it may be an image of the idyllic spot you’ve chosen for your wedding, or your names written in the sand, or a collage of the exotic flowers you’ll be using for your bouquet.

The wording for your beach invites can be as formal or informal as you wish it to be. To give you some inspiration, we’ve detailed some ideas that our wedding couples have used:-

5 top tips when planning your beach wedding stationery...

  1. Send save the date cards so guests know to save their pennies and holiday leave to join your overseas wedding, send invitations as soon as you have the resort/country details finalised.
  2. You only need one invite per couple or family.
  3. There is no formal etiquette so match your beach wedding invitations and stationery to suit you and your special celebrations.
  4. Guest information cards can be a handy addition to your invitations to share flight, accommodation and any other details with your guests.
  5. Use a photo from your beach wedding for your thank you cards, they make a lovely keepsake for your friends and family.
