Real Wedding At The Old Hall, Ely

The rain just about held off for this stunning English country garden wedding at The Old Hall, Ely, for Lucy and Toby's special day. Starting with an outdoor ceremony under the most beautiful wooden pavillion, the outdoors then came in with magnificent tall floral displays in the Old Hall's marquee. The palette of navy blue and ivory gives this wedding a timeless sophistication, fitting for such an elegant venue as the Old Hall.

A message from the Bride:

Living in Ely, we had driven past The Old Hall many times and I had always mentioned the venue looking beautiful to Toby. Therefore once we were engaged, it was the obvious venue to look around.

We both fell in love with the place. The building itself was gorgeous and the setting was absolutely stunning. I had always been adamant I wanted to get married outside so The Old Hall had everything we wanted, plus more.

We were keen that the wedding has a modern and clean feel to it, so went with a simple navy and white theme. We tried to keep everything as simple as possible and used flower arrangements as the key staging for both the ceremony itself and the tables for the wedding breakfast.

If I was to give any advice on planning a wedding it would be, don’t panic about all the little things you can't control. Even if everything doesn’t go quite to plan, you won’t notice it at all on the day. I got myself worked up that it was going to rain on our wedding day, and in the end it did –But I can honestly say it didn’t ruin the day at all. Gary (our photographer) and the staff at The Old Hall were brilliant at quickly making small amends to the day in order for us to get all of our outdoor photos completed before it poured down!

We can honestly say every moment of our day was absolutely perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing!
