James & Lucy's Christmas Castle Wedding

On a wonderful crisp winter’s day last December, Lucy & James became Mr & Mrs Beale in St Mary’s Church, Berkeley, a stones throw from the magnificent Berkeley Castle where they would celebrate their marriage.

Whilst Lucy was preparing for her wedding day at her family home, James had a surprise in store for him… his ushers led him out onto the lawns of Tortworth Court where he was greeted with a Helicopter to fly him to the meadow at Berkeley Castle. His ushers had thought of all the tiny details including wellies to make sure his neatly polished shoes didn’t get a scrap of mud on them…. Once the helicopter landed they were whisked up to the Berkeley Arms in a 4x4 for a few pre wedding pints to settle the nerves.

Meanwhile, Lucy’s bridesmaids were helping her into the stunning Suzanne Neville dress, chosen perfectly to keep the winter chill at bay with the gorgeous intricate lace bodice.

Guests celebrated the new marriage at Berkeley Castle, a stunning medieval fortress in the Gloucestershire countryside. With roaring fires & glasses of bubbly, guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the romantic Drawing Rooms. With stunning backgrounds such as these, they weren’t short of beautiful photo opportunities. The Wedding Breakfast took place in the Great Hall, followed by speeches which had guests roaring with laughter and the groom stunned by the number of embarrassing photos his Best Men had managed to find! With a little help from the Mother of the Bride and Whitehouse Crockery, the Great Hall looked magical, fitting perfectly with the Classical Elegance that ran right through the wedding day.

The amazing wedding cake was made by the Father of the Groom, bringing tears to his new Daughter in Laws eyes the first time she saw it.

The evening reception commenced with Whisky Tasting in the Beer Cellar, followed by entertainment from Earl Grey which got everyone up on the dance floor!

The Bride & Groom were over the moon with how their big day went, thanking Berkeley Castle for all their support along the way and saying what an amazing day they had.
