An Alice In Wonderland Wedding At The Devonshire Fell
Set in the rolling Yorkshire Dales, today's wedding is the perfect mix of traditional country charm and unique quirkiness. Ben and Karen held their day at the wonderful Devonshire Fell in Burnsall, a venue which oozes local charm and incredible photo ops. They added a little flavour to their day with subtle touches of Alice In Wonderland, featuring in the stationery, table scapes, favours to name a few. We particularly liked the original Mad Hatter's tea party illustration used on the table plan - nice touch!
The photographs were taken by the super talented Georgina Brewster, and here's what she had to say about the day...
Just over a month ago, Ben & Karen became Mr & Mrs Hill at their church in Long Preston, North Yorkshire. A wedding with an Alice in Wonderland theme, a gospel choir that had the congregation dancing in the aisles and an afternoon tea at the church before guests boarded a vintage bus and made their way through the dales to the reception venue at the Devonshire Fell hotel in the stunning village of Burnsall.
Following their ceremony at their church in Long Preston the congregation enjoyed an afternoon tea of homemade scones, sandwiches and pastries before boarding the vintage bus to transport them through the winding roads of Yorkshire.
The Devonshire Fell is the perfect choice to grab some stunning location shots featuring the Bride + Groom with rolling hillsides as a backdrop and the stone bridge over the River Wharfe. After the wedding party had dined on fine cuisine and had made their speeches we headed out for the sunset shots before they danced the night away as Mr + Mrs.
Karen's gown was the epitome of Alice whilst Ben chose a grey suit with a tweed waistcoat (very Yorkshire).
We were blessed with the weather! Everyone enjoyed the evening sunshine in the gardens of The Devonshire Fell and we made time for some extra couple shots as the sun was setting just before their first dance together as Mr and Mrs.
