Charlotte & Luke's Happily Ever After (Dartmoor) Wedding
Guests arrived at the glorious Ever After Dartmoor for Charlotte and Luke's wedding to a welcoming pre-ceremony reception of prosecco and mini scones and cream. Charlotte was getting ready in the beautiful honeymoon cottage along with her two bridesmaids and daughter, who was a flower girl. She wore the most beautiful of beaded Jenny Packham wedding dresses and carried a loose bunch of wild flowers in creams and neutrals.
The ceremony itself took place in the open sided barn, while guests looked on (from underneath umberellas) just outside. But a little drizzle certainly didn't dampen any spirits at this wedding, and it quickly cleared up in time for the post-ceremony drinks reception, complete with a bellini station and lawn games (provided by the venue).
Decorations, were, on the whole provided by the venue and florist, Dartmoor Flowers. The wedding barn was decorated simply with a fairy light canopy, logs lining the aisle carpet and jars of flowers. The table plan was written on a salvaged window frame supplied by the venue.
Guests moved into the marquee for the wedding breakfast, sitting at round tables with pale grey table linen and clear ghost chairs provided by the venue. The table centrepieces were jars of flowers and accessories to tie in with the feel of a secret garden wedding with rustic luxe touches.
Molly Miranda and the Kings played live music for the wedding ceremony and then moved to the lawns for the drinks reception. 3 other members of the same band arrived later in the evening for a 5 piece live band.
Charlotte and luke took time out with their photographer for couple photos in the woods and also on the riverwalk before returning to their guests for an evening of music and dancing.
Wedding coordinator Nicola, from Ever After Dartmoor, enjoyed making some recommendations for the couple:
"Apart from our caterers which couples have to use, they have free choice of any other suppliers although we are often asked for recommendations which I’m very happy to make. They had a fantastic cheese cake by Bon Gout (as well as a wedding cake made by the bride’s cousin). Matt Austin the photographer was recommended by me and is on our shortlist for photography recommendations. Not only is he an amazing photographer, he has a super quick turn around time, no waiting for months on end to see your wedding pics!"
