Burley Manor is set in spectacular surroundings and has recently been restored to its former glory, offering the chance to book the newest wedding venue in the New Forest.

Hosting up to 80 guests for a seated meal, with space for 120 for the evening, the beamed, vaulted ceiling makes it airy and bright in spring and summer, with floor-to-ceiling traditional brick chimneys our roaring log fires create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in those cold winter months.

Our menus are deliciously seasonal and designed together to create a sumptuous feast, taking inspiration from the best of British produce suffused with the flavours of the Mediterranean – dishes are made for sharing with family and friends. They’ll enjoy champagne and canapes, sharing boards and our sommelier’s choice of wine.

If you’re considering booking your wedding or special occasion here, DON’T!

We held our belated wedding reception at Burley Manor in November 2023. A long-awaited celebration after our small ceremony during Covid (which was held at a different venue).

Credit where credit’s due - the location and venue are beautiful, the food was great, and the event planning team were really helpful and enthusiastic about our vision.

Upsettingly, our wedding reception didn’t turn out how we had planned for all those months and spent a lot of money on.

The on-the-day event management was so rude to us and our guests. They had a “can’t do” attitude which put a huge downer on our day. Everything was a problem for them, with snarky comments being made about everything we did.

Forget guest experience, their only concern was clearing the room after the meal for the band set up. The planning team had advised 1.5 hours for this, which we had given in our schedule and all timings had been agreed prior to our wedding reception. But on the day, the event team wanted to cut the time of our drinks reception by half, and rush through dinner to give them more time. I had to repeatedly ask them not to.

Service during our meal was terrible. Everyone had an empty glass. Some drinks that we had pre-paid for weren’t even served. When we raised this afterwards, the hotel denied everything and basically called us and our guests liars. Apparently everyone chose to just have table water!

After waiting so long to celebrate our marriage, we are so upset that this is the experience we received - both during our wedding reception and afterwards. The event planning team are centralised so everything is great until you are handed over to the hotel. Sold the dream and delivered something completely different.

Do Not Use this place....
This wedding for paid in full 6 weeks before the event.
We had our daughters wedding December 2023. It was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The venue was booked a year ahead and on the day it was a very embarrassing day.
They did not have any heating or BACKUP. Why they took a winter wedding booking when they could not deal with a crisis. Most normal venues have backup systems.
At my initial viewing of the venue, I was told that the open fires would be lit etc and if that had been the case the venue would have been warm.
When it was brought to the attention of the one member of staff on duty, he didn't want to know and was not at all pleasant.
guests sat with their winter coats on during the meal, the food was so mean. There wasn't anything special about the food. The pudding was like the local supermarket specials, buy one, get one free. Why we booked this place.....
They did not serve the welcome drinks; they were just dumped on the side on a circular tray, not enough for all the guests; the same for canapes

They did not have enough tea and coffee, despite the numbers being confirmed and paid for in advance.
Our daughter had to help the one and only member of staff move the tables in order to make the barn ready for the evening dancing.
Guests complained about the bar and the charges. Guests order drinks and cancelled due to the high costs and prices varied considerably despite the same drinks being ordered.
To see our daughter cry on what should have been her special day was just heart breaking.
We had guests from all over the world and we were mortified with the whole affair.
Having spoken to others since, people living in the area, the feedback was similar and people did not have any positive notes on the Burley Manor.
Please do not book your special day at the Burley Manor as is was just so shabby.
The stylist, who was paid independently, did a great job, the band were supberb, again this was our cost.
Burley Manor is an embarrassment and nothing can compensate for the disaster that we experienced.
It was like a one man band affair, a very expensive disaster. I regret giving the business to them, they do not deserve to be in business. If only we had gone to elsewhere,....what a complete waste of money.
