Buckland Tout-Saints Hotel

We recently held our wedding reception at the Buckland Tout Saints hotel, and were delighted with the level of attentive service that the hotel provided us and our guests throughout our stay. The hotel is set in beautiful Devon countryside, and the house and grounds are all extremely well kept, with charming paths winding through the gardens and foliage. We housed our respective families in the bedrooms, and all were extremely impressed with the quality of furnishing and amenity within the hotel. The bridal suite, Camellia, would be perfect for a romantic getaway and provides an abundance of space. The hotel’s staff clearly pride themselves with providing guests with the best service possible – absolutely nothing was too much trouble, and the hotel were flexible in meeting our requirements. The food for the wedding breakfast was top quality – we would particularly recommend the ham hock terrine starter, and the ballontine of chicken. Guests had more than one choice, however all were extremely satisfied with the food on offer. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Buckland Tout Saints as the perfect place for a wedding, romantic break, or just a long weekend to get away from it all – we’re looking forward already to planning a return trip around the time of our first anniversary. We stayed here recently for a wedding function and it's such a beautiful hotel, very romantic and elegant. This country manor house looks like something from a romance novel and I love that it is tucked away down narrow lanes and surrounded by nature, you really get a feel that you have escaped city life, it's like a little secret in between Plymouth and Exeter. This place is a real gem and the staff are friendly. Perfect for weddings and romantic weekends away.

After you have navigated through very tight, and I mean very tight country lanes even though we have a Toyota Avensis Estate, you drive up to the country house and are met with an exquisite and tranquil country house. The views are stunning! We have come to celebrate my friends wedding and it is perfect for and intimate and exclusive venue. We stayed in room 13 Orchid, which was very clean, spacious and well presented. As I am 5foot 7 which I would class about average female height I did have a couple of niggles. The wash basin mirror is placed too high on the wall and I could not use it as in I could only see the top half of my face. Luckily there is a full length mirror on the other side of the room so wasn't too much of an issue but is a noticeable one. On the opposite end the shower at its highest setting is too low. I have to say I have never knelt down to have a shower before so it was different and also did fluctuate from extreme burning hot to cold. Kevin that will squark often but as it was hot we had the windows open so that's why it was loud.

The wedding food was very artistic and tasted amazing, not necessarily what you expect from the description but taste very nice. The staff very very nice and well presented. I would only say that for a big breakfast party you would need more than one person serving.

All in all a very nice retreat and would go back in a heartbeat. Well done!
