Hitchin Priory is a charming 14th Century building nestled in 19 acres of tranquil parkland, yet only 2 minutes walk from the centre of the beautiful market town, Hitchin in Hertfordshire.

Steeped in history dating back to 1317, Hitchin Priory was later frequented by Henry VIII and many original features remain, including cloisters, Monks Walk with its original beams and banqueting halls with grand fireplaces – it’s truly a unique venue for your dream wedding day.

Set in the historic market town of Hitchin, our venue has proved popular for both grand receptions and smaller intimate gatherings; from a simple soiree or civil partnership in our beautifully appointed reception rooms, to traditional Asian or white wedding celebrations in our Priory Marquee.

Licensed for Civil Ceremonies, from 20 to 100 people, Hitchin Priory can cater up to 80 guests at a formal wedding breakfast in the splendour of the Main House, with 200 guests for an evening reception, or up to 300 guests in the Marquee, which overlooks our stunning grounds.

I was gifted a voucher for Afternoon Tea for two for my 50th Birthday in 2020.
Post Pandemic The Priory is no longer open for Afternoon Tea .
We have been put off, ignored , deferred over a year . It would seem that this company has no intention of iether refunding us or booking us for Afternoon tea . I guess they see us as small fry .
If this is how they treat customers I would give them a wide berth !! Taking this further on principle . Avoid dealing with these people if you want your event to matter .
