The Bear is a wonderful place to host your dream wedding day, oozing with romance and overflowing with character. Perched on top of Rodborough Common, The Bear boasts a picture-perfect setting for your special day, with views out over the rambling hills of the Cotswolds, and even free-roaming cows in the commons that surround it. From delicious food and drink menus, a collection of classic country bedrooms to indulge in, and a choice of rooms for the ceremony itself, we can help you plan the perfect day…

The Tower Room is cosy and homely, perfect for intimate weddings of up to 20 guests.

The Terrace Room overlooks the gardens at the rear, with fantastic views and room for 70 guests.

Last but not least, our stylish Library Restaurant can host up to 90 guests and is ideal for creating a warm atmosphere on your big day.

We had a wonderful day for our recent wedding at the Bear of Rodborough. Sharlene was brilliant and didn't fluster even when i was possibly the most laid back bride she'd had dealings with, leaving all of the finer details of the wedding to a few days before the event! All details were sorted quickly and the Bear was able to accommodate my idea of a 'Mad Hatters tea party' for the wedding breakfast which was phenomenal!!! The day went very smoothly under Sharlene's watchful eye so every detail was perfect even if i was late to the ceremony!
The venue is stunning full of rustic charm and set in a beautiful location on the common, which was just what i wanted for my rustic/autumnal wedding and all the guests had a wonderful day with the only complaint that the wedding didn't last longer!

We got married at The Bear of Rodborough in November 2016 and couldn't fault the service of the staff and the hotel on the run up to, and during our big day. Sharlene was fantastic and always at hand to answer any questions and was so friendly and accommodating. Her and the team at The Bear, dressed the rooms beautifully and exactly how we wanted them, the food was delicious and we had so many comments on how great the menu was. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location perfect. We would recommend a wedding at The Bear of Rodborough to anyone seeking a local venue as for us it was perfect and we couldn't have asked for more.

From the moment we first visited the Bear, we knew it was where we wanted to get married, the hotel very much feels like one of the family. It’s cosy and easy going, while still maintaining a high level of quality. All of the staff provide a high level of customer service, with a very friendly and approachable manner. The wedding planner, Sharlene, was always ready and happy to answer all of our questions, no matter how trivial or unusual, and was enthusiastic about making our day special.
The day before the wedding when we arrived with all of the wedding accoutrements and checked in, the Hotel manager, wedding planner and a number of other staff dived straight in to help us unload cars and transport all the items inside. The manager then took half an hour with us making sure that all our plans and special requirements were acknowledged and understood, ready for the wedding day. He left us feeling very confident that our wedding was in safe hands, and we could start enjoying the celebrations with our family and friends.
The day itself was fabulous, we didn’t have anything to worry or think about, other than saying our ‘I do’s’ and enjoying the day. Everything was as it should be, when it should have been! All of the staff maintained a perfect level of presence – they were available to check that everything was going ok and we were happy, but never seemed to be in the way.
The food and drink throughout the day was amazing, something that all guests commented on. Special dietary requirements were welcomed and catered for, even creating a special dessert. The wedding breakfast courses were served seamlessly – all 60 guests were eating within a few minutes of the first plates leaving the kitchen.
Overall we couldn’t recommend the Bear Hotel highly enough for a wedding venue or any other special occasion. It is somewhere we look forward to visiting regularly in years to come, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
