Friars Carse is a Scottish baronial castle and country house wedding venue, set in a 45 acre Dumfriesshire estate that stretches to the banks of the River Nith. Our venue offers guests a warm welcome and the riverside setting and historic atmosphere makes for a truly unforgettable wedding day.
Hidden along a private drive, Friars Carse offers peace and tranquillity within 45 acres of farm and woodland, and located beside the River Nith in beautiful rural Dumfriesshire countryside. Friars Carse is the perfect setting for riverside ceremonies or inside using the oak-panelled lounge.
The fully heated permanent marquee, adjacent to the house, accommodates in the region of 150 guests for a sit-down meal, and up to 200 for an evening celebration. The Marquee has its own bar, outside decking area, and ample space for dancing the night away.
For more intimate weddings, the Nith Room, overlooking the lawn and river, can accommodate up to 30 guests. The historic Whistle Restaurant may be used for wedding celebrations seating up to 50, with countryside views towards Ellisland Farm.
Guests may be accommodated in 21 en-suite bedrooms, one of which is the 4-poster Honeymoon Suite with double Jacuzzi bath. There are also two self-catering cottages located in the grounds.
