I ordered my dress from Abigails Bridal Boutique in October 2020 and I get married in November 2021. However, although the designer notified Abigail's that the dress has been ready for dispatch since early September, due to cash flow problems, Abigail's has been unable to pay the designer. Through direct communication with the designer, I have managed to move my order to another boutique (and have had to pay again). The designer has been amazing, as have the new boutique.

I will now have to try and claim my money back via my bank and if that doesn't work go through the small claims court or my insurance. Definitely not what you need 5 weeks before the wedding.

At NO POINT have Abigail's Bridal Boutique let me know there is a problem or going to be a delay, despite my numerous chasers. I repeatedly tried to call, text, email, Instagram message and I received little or no response. The only time they respond is if I comment publicly on their Instagram page (they soon delete any negative comments or follow up messages from brides from their Instagram page).

I can't understand how they are still operating and taking 'orders' from unsuspecting brides. It is not acceptable how they are behaving.

I didn't even get an apology when I explained that the designer has moved my order as THEY DIDN'T PAY! They have also NOT OFFERED TO REFUND ME! They can't seem to acknowledge that their conduct is in any way inappropriate, and they have no remorse for the amount of stress and upset that they have caused for tens of brides in the lead up to their weddings, a day which should be one of the best and important days of your life and that potentially not getting your dress is going to cause an issue.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident, there are many more brides in similar situations as a result of Abigals Bridal Boutique. If you are concerned that the same could happen to you then I urge you to contact the designer or Citizens Advice for guidance on how best to proceed.

They need to stop playing at business and close down.

Absolutely Appalling Experience
Please note my actual review is too long so I have condensed it down to this…
I have recently learned the hard way that reading reviews is of the upmost importance. Had I bothered to research the opinions of others regarding their experience of Abigail’s Bridal Boutique I would have run a mile!
5 cancelled appointments, lie after lie, a wedding dress with no alterations carried out 8 days prior to the big day and the withholding of monies owed.
I can categorically say I have never had to go through such a horrendous experience. Seriously poor management, inexperienced staff, dishonesty, empty promises, no accountability, lies and an abundance of excuses made purchasing my daughter’s wedding dress one of the most stressful ordeals of my life! (Believe me at 50 years of age there has been a few!) What should have been the best part of the lead up to her wedding day was most definitely the worst and although she had the very best day ever the experience of Abigail’s Bridal Boutique had tainted it.
I have no confidence in receiving the refund of £300 which was due to be paid on the 24th of September, then the 30th of September, then the 15th of October before being informed that Abigail’s bank account was blocked and couldn’t accept payments in or out!
Having taken professional advice, I have now pursued the matter through the small claims court. I have also seen on other reviews and Instagram comments that contacting Trading Standards seems to be an option so I will be attempting to contact my fellow complainers (I have the details of 18 up to now) to hear their experiences and follow suit with this too.
