An historic Jacobean manor, Holdsworth House is hidden from view by three acres of beautiful gardens. The house dates back to 1633 and the façade is a photographer’s dream. Inside there are 36 bedrooms for guests to stay over and the award-winning kitchen prepares wedding breakfasts fresh, for maximum flavour.

Holdsworth House is fully licensed for marriage ceremonies and popular for small or large weddings, up to 120 guests. You can choose Exclusive Use or an outdoor wedding from one of the wedding packages. There are even special packages for winter weddings.

Recently attended a family wedding here, the location is lovely, the bride and groom hired the whole venue including all the rooms for sole use on the day of the wedding so we had the run of the place. I found the staff very helpful and attentive, the food was lovely and rooms including the reception and ceremony area were lovely! Highly recommend.

We visited for two days this summer as my sister got married here. They opted for one of the afternoon tea wedding packages as we were a small group and I honestly have nothing but praise for every aspect. The venue is stunning and at no time do you realise how close to Halifax you are. The staff were the right mix of professional and friendly and the food was superb. Even the drinks were amazing and all staff knew what they were serving and made recommendations. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and as an added bonus they are dog friendly!

From the moment I walked into Holdsworth House I knew I wanted to be married there. The hotel is full of character and charm and was the most beautiful setting for our wedding. What really makes this place special however is the staff. Tracey was our host on the big day and she was amazing. She is such a warm hearted lady, superb at her job but so lovely you would want her as a guest if she wasn't the duty manager! The wedding plans leading up to the day were dealt with by Claire, assisted by the charming Sophie. Claire was exceptionally efficient throughout, always responding to queries quickly and I knew I could relax on the day itself because of her competence and professionalism. The reception team are so welcoming and friendly and I wanted to say a special thank you to Jade and Mikhaila and the adorable lady who checked us out. The staff here make you feel so special and share in your happiness which made our day perfect. We were able to have our dogs with us and this hotel really makes them feel welcome. I know our two had a wonderful time! The gardens here are so lovely and we loved that there is a field with horses in right next door. The food was excellent and the rooms here are lovely. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a wedding or a short break. Thank you to everyone at Holdsworth House for surpassing all expectations on the happiest day of my life.
