About

Hilles House is an exclusive and romantic Arts & Crafts period house with a panoramic view overlooking five counties, from the Severn bridge to the Shropshire Hills. Our doors are open to host your special day - be it summer, spring, autumn - or for a heartening, winter wedding.

Perched in its own romantic Avalon of gentle hillocks, the house is flanked by generous lawns on both sides and bordered by great yew hedges, dry stone walls and carefully tended flower and shrub beds. The house sits in its own private estate comprising 700 acres.

The interior of Hilles House boasts a Great Hall ('40 x 20’) which can be used for civil ceremonies, drinks receptions or for guests to wander through and enjoy. It is up to you.

Detmar Blow and his team at Hilles House are delighted to announce the arrival of the Grand Palace Yurt.
The Palace Yurt is our bespoke answer to any large venue requirement at Hilles House and will form a key part of our offer as a whole.
The Palace Yurt will be oval in shape and will cover an internal area of approx 3,780.00 square foot / 90’ x 42’. It will be set close to the house on the generous north lawn at Hilles, the preferable site for large marquees.

On behalf of Tessa and James, what a fantastic day it was on Saturday 15th July. Hilles house was the most magical setting with arts and crafts tapestries, and wonderful art and around the house, indeed there was an eclectic mix of exquisite items everywhere you looked. Thank you Detmar, for sharing your family home, you made us feel so welcome and allowed our daughter and her new husband, plan their wedding to fit around their personal quirks ! We especially enjoyed the build up, preparing the marquees the day before and then using the upstairs bedroom for my daughter and the bridesmaids to have their hair and make up done before they walked down the stairs for the ceremony. Many of our guests have said that it was one of the best weddings that they had been to, we will definitely treasure the memories that we made at this stunning venue. Many thanks to Detmar and the team at hills house!

Hilles House is a truly magical place from the antiques & tapestries in the house, to the beautifully kept gardens, which provided a dream venue for our wedding in July.

From start to finish the team of Detmar and Rhian made every aspect of organising our wedding a joy and we really appreciated and chose the venue due to its beauty, but also the way that bride and grooms are given the flexibility to plan a wedding they want with limited restrictions.

All of our guests were blown away by the venue and its surroundings.

We really could not have asked for anything more, it was perfect.
