Firle Place is set in rolling parkland and right in the heart of the South Downs National Park and offers a truly spectacular setting for romantic wedding ceremonies and receptions, with a wide range of options dependent on the individual size and style of the event. The 2020 film adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma was shot at Firle Place after being selected for its breathtaking beauty and Georgian authenticity. All weddings at Firle Place enjoy use of the grand driveway that winds up through the Firle Park, with parking for all guests on site - and exclusively for the first time in the history of Firle Place, there is now the opportunity to have a civil ceremony up at the main house itself. Then head down to the Georgian Riding School and Croquet Lawns for the wedding breakfast and party.
The Georgian Riding School at Firle Place is a stunning Grade 2* listed, barn-style building located in the private grounds of the house. Its grand size and spectacular 450m fairly lit ceiling with exposed oak beams, make it a truly wonderful indoor space for weddings and parties for up to 250 guests (although it can be easily partitioned for smaller events using the beautiful, soft white draping system).
The Georgian Riding School sits just above the Croquet Lawns, Cherry Walk and a pretty lake framed by weeping willows, and so couples who choose to hold their wedding here also have use of stunning outside space.
